Intellectual Property and Base Patent
The core of our advantage is intellectual property, which includes key elements of PVT construction and technology. The development of the modules is based on patented solutions, including the MKP-2022/246 patent for the innovative “omega” PVT absorber, which is the basic IP enabling the production of hybrid modules by Calores.
Portfolio of knowledge and patents
Scientific facilities and the role of prof. Ilija Nasov
Calores combines patent ownership, unique manufacturing processes, material competence and system integration into a single operating model. We are not only an integrator of components – we develop and have key technologies enabling the construction of efficient, industrially scalable next-generation PVT systems, which are the foundation of second-generation renewable energy.
Since 2003 prof. Nasov develops flat and vacuum solar collectors with an efficiency exceeding 84% and long-term stability over 10 years, based on proprietary absorber technologies. In 2019, he developed a hybrid PVT collector for simultaneous generation of electricity and heat.
These solutions are developed under the guidance of Prof. Dr. hab. Ilija Nasov — a scientist and inventor specializing in solar collector technology, surface engineering and advanced material coatings.

EU research and development projects and programmes
The development of these technologies was supported by a wide range of research and development facilities and participation in international EU projects (FP7, Horizon 2020, ENSNARE, Eureka projects). Know-how also includes the results of projects such as POLYSOL (PVD technologies), DIBBIOPACK (plasma barrier technologies), COMPOSOL (PVD coatings with the highest reflection on glass) or SOLEGLASS (optically selective coatings for pipe collectors).
Infrastructure and competences of Calores
Calores has a dedicated configuration of the PVT absorber production line, advanced measuring facilities and systems for monitoring the operating parameters of modules and installations. Competences include:
